A fantastic tour de force performance by Angela Dawe
Audiobook fans know that they can make or break a story. But other times they can elevate it to outstanding levels. This is the case with Sliced Ice.
This is a collection of ten short stories by Lee Winter, all based on different characters from her books. Ms. Winter is an expert in writing ice queens and there’s always one present in her books, hence the title. Some of these works have been published before in compilations or as part of this author’s newsletter gifts but for Ms. Winter’s fans, it’s nice to have them all together in one book.

There’s a story for everyone here. Some are sexy, others romantic, others funny, and others contemplative. Ms. Winter’s fans won’t be disappointed.
When I reviewed the book I said that as in any compilation, some stories are better than others but, despite that, they all show Ms. Winter’s talent and sharp wit. Add the incredible brilliance of Angela Dawe and the result is a fantastic audiobook. Ms. Dawe performs a wide range of characters, voices, ages, accents, all with flawless skill in a fantastic tour de force performance. 5 stars.
