This is the debut novel by this author, the first of her Lightning series. It’s a romance between recent divorcee Parker Duncan and one night stand extraordinaire Sidney Hyatt. They meet, none of them wanting a commitment, but the attraction is stronger. You can guess the rest as this is a romance. Nothing wrong with this. However, my issue with this book is that as their relationship evolves they encounter a number of clichéd situations that seem too stereotypical and simplistic in their development and resolution. I don’t want to give much away but let’s say it involves exes, homophobic parents, etcetera. The portrayal of the main characters as femme-butch, gorgeous-handsome, both well-off successful professionals makes them too stereotyped. Again, nothing wrong with that but it is not my cup of tea.

Overall, an ok read. 3 stars.
